Materials Comparison

Durability

Durability refers to the stone’s ability to retain its beauty, handle its designated load and withstand wear and tear for generations. Strength is determined by how much load it can handle.

Heat Resistance

Heat resistance does not mean you should constantly place high heat objects on the stones. High heat can remove sealer or polish layers, eventually damaging the stone.

Stain Resistance

Stain-resistant does not mean stain-proof. Stain-resistant means that it is harder to stain the stone If you properly care for it, you will not deal with staining.

Porous

Stone porosity is a measurement of the volume of pores in natural stone when compared to its total weight. Every type of stone has pores, which are simply spaces within the stone.
